Moose Droppings – The Shedding Process

Moose Droppings - The Shedding Process

What up fools? You been doing good? I hope that you all are strong in your quit, and that you got this bitch by the throat for the weekend… I think that chat has been down, so I haven’t talked to some of my buds in a while.

Have you ever seen a rattle snake shed its skin? They molt, become less active, and much more temperamental, all from the shedding process. They cant see as well from the excess skin inhibiting their sight, cant move as well from the excess skin around their curved bodies, and areas that aren’t quite ready to lose the excess skin make it uncomfortable for the snake. This process is very important however, because it allows the snake to grow, become larger and stronger. In rattle snakes, it also adds an extra rattle to protect the snake in dangerous situations, and physically show the growth of the snake.

I was noticing something that has transformed in this specific quit that I haven’t seen in my other attempts. I caught myself staring at a coworker last night watchin him stuff a fatty in, and he was genuinely enjoying it. Many times before I would have watched in envy and thought to myself “man… you know he would give me one if I asked” instead however I found that I was disgusted because he was so addicted, and that he had to have it his life. He couldn’t see the fact that it was killing him, and that he had the power to stop this addiction in its tracks right then. The Nic Bitch had him fooled just as she did me, making him believe that he couldn’t quit and that he could not function without it in his life. I wasn’t exactly judging him, but I was seeing him through different eyes. I am not saying that I will not wobble and yearn for that old bitch, but I am seeing a different Moose in this quit that I have never seen before.

I feel that we are just like the snake I was talking about. We (in our quit) are shedding, and molting. We longed for our friend and fought through the withdraws. We started to “molt” and allowed the process to take affect. We are starting to see the ripples in the skin, allowing the new skin grow and flourish. Yes… we are very temperamental, and fighting to let this new life direct us. Instead of allowing dip and the Nic bitch direct our every move. If we allow this process to take affect and come into its own, we will see a new “rattle”, start to show our growth and where we’ve been. Sounding off our old dangers, and letting others hear that we’ve been there and grew from it.

I look at all the founding members, as well as the Newbie’s and see that we are all the same “snake”. Some with 500,600,1000 days are big in size and show off a 12 or 13 sectioned rattle, while others like myself are new and small. Our rattles are only 1 or 2 in section, but…. we are as dangerous to the Nic Bitch as our counterparts. Our venom is just as potent as our fore fathers. We have to be patient and allow this process to take affect, allow it to make us grow. The only difference that I see is that the snake cant go backward, we on the other hand can reverse our growth and start right back at the hatchling stage. Let our Rattles grow so that we may be herd for miles…
