Quitter’s Serenity Prayer
Now I know some of you saw the word prayer and probably didn’t even want to click and see what I had to say. Or maybe you were interested. Either way let me get started. From the first days of my quit all the way to 56 (today), I have used this prayer.
“God grant me the serenity, to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.”
In the beginning I used to just accept the fact that I was an addict and to accept the fact that I was going to have cravings everyday. Instead of fighting cravings, I just accepted that it was going to be a normal thing and just lived my life. Now I’m so used to dealing with these cravings that I don’t have them any more. Once I got it into my routine, it became automatic. I don’t want to get a head of myself, but as long as I live and think the way I have been thinking, I will quit everyday. Just figured I’d share this damn good prayer.
Good luck in your all your quitting. If you want to talk just send me a message.
