Nicotine Vaccine To Help Smokers Quit?
Would you get a vaccine if it would make you immune to nicotine addiction? That may be a possibility in the future.
Scientist at The Scripps Research Institute (TSRI) have designed a new nicotine vaccine which they believe could help smokers and possibly drug addicts quit their addictions.
Kim Janda from TSRI says, “This study provides new hope that one could make a nicotine vaccine that succeeds in clinical trials.”
They aren’t suggesting this would be the elusive “magic pill” of quitting, there would still be withdrawal associated, but they’re suggesting that with this method relapse would be less likely.
