I Am An Addict – I Have An Addictive Personality
I am an addict, I have an addictive personality the first stage of healing is acceptance of things I cannot change. However, what I can change is how I respond to situations. Accountability is the best thing that my addictive personality could ever have. For those fresh on the journey, it can be rough. Find things that make you whole for me it was spending time with my family and son and cherishing the present. For all we truly have is the present.
Secondly, I had to break my identity down I remember when I went to Army RASP training they broke us down to build us up. Breaking my identity from nicotine was inevitable. I had to build myself up and had to tell myself that I am no longer a slave to nicotine. I wrote a note on my mirror that said I am not a tobacco user anymore and I would repeat that to myself every day.
And lastly, I will say that community is important watch who you surround yourself with. Align your relationships with those who value the same belief as you. Find your tribe and stick to it. To finish it I am a rooting tooting gunslinger that will never accept defeat to Nic that’s all militia
