A Kick In The Nuts!
101 days ago today, my 10 y.o. daughter kicked me in the nuts!
No, not literally, but by telling me she was worried that I would not be alive to one day walk her down the aisle for her wedding. She said she worried that my dipping for so long would give me cancer and make my face fall off. That was my moment! Those two small sentences changed my life. When I realized that something I had been doing so blindly for 27 years was such a big deal to my daughter, that’s when I knew it was time to quit for good.
Sure, I tried quitting before. I gave it the ol’ college try. I would quit for a couple weeks at a time when the wife asked me to quit, but I never wanted to quit. The nic bitch just felt way to good to me. She was there for me first thing in the morning, brushed teeth or not; all the way to bed time. She was so good I enjoyed her best right after sex. So what made this time different… KTC. KTC provided me with an accountability system. By making a promise every day to my November brothers to quit the nic, and to stay quit, just for that day. Then wake up again tomorrow and make the same promise again. Rinse and repeat EDD! I don’t care if you are day 1 or day 1000 post roll, keep your promise. Keep your promise to your brothers that you will have their back in this quit, just as they will keep theirs.
Its funny how something so innocently as taking a pinch, started me on a 10,220 day journey. 100 days ago I completed that journey and began a new, cleaner healthier one. One journey ended with little to no fanfare….. One journey began by one small innocent comment….. and that journey continues on in one large promise.
My promise to my November brothers, all the quitters who came before me and to all those who come to KTC after me…. I quit TODAY and I quit with YOU!
P.S. To the guys who helped me with roll, because I’m absent minded at times, Schaef and ElPollo, thank you my brothers. We made it to “The 100”!
