A Re-Review of Jake’s Mint Chew Kola
I recently wrote a review of the newest flavor from Jake’s Mint Chew called Kola. I’ve received some feedback on that review that possibly my taste buds were off (which is entirely possible). So, I reached out to Jake’s and got a couple of additional cans for a re-review.
In my original review, I said that with a name like “Kola” I was expecting a Coca-Cola flavor / smell which I just didn’t get. I was smelling and tasting was overwhelmingly lemon or citrus flavoring. I have to say that this time around I did get more of a cola smell when opening the can, but I’m still not seeing that flavor come through. To me, it’s still a citrus product.
This isn’t a bad thing. I’m actually a big fan of Jake’s Kola. But to MY palate this is a not a cola product aside from the whiff when opening a can. Aside from a slightly heightened smell of cola, I stand by everything in my original Kola review.
Kola has been added to the Jake’s Mint Chew website and is available as a 10 pack, part of a split 10 pack and is also included in their sampler pack (where now you’ll be getting 2 Wintergreen, 2 Straight Mint, 1 Spearmint, 1 Kola, 1 Cranberry, 1 Licorice and 1 Cinnamon). Jake’s Mint Chew can be found on the web at www.jakesmintchew.com As always, special thanks goes out to Adam and Jake for providing samples for me to try and review.
