Grinds Coffee Pouches – Black Coffee Review
I was first introduced to Grinds Coffee Pouches years ago before co-founder Patrick Pezet and Grinds were featured on ABC’s Shark Tank. I’m pumped to say that they haven’t rested on their success and they’ve continued to add new flavors to their offering.
Introducing Grinds Black Coffee!
You can read my original review of Grinds Coffee Pouches here. That review includes the flavors Cinnamon Roll, Mint Chocolate and Mocha. My follow up review of their newer flavors Peppermint and Vanilla as well as their Caramel flavor are also available. If you’re not familiar with Grinds, they’re different from other smokeless alternatives as they’re made out of… you guessed it… coffee grinds. All flavors of Grinds are pouch products. You don’t have to deal with cleanup or little bits of chew floating around in your mouth. Each pouch as the caffeine equivalent of a 1/4 cup of coffee so you’ll get a nice little “pick me up” to boot.
Grinds Black Coffee Ingredients
Coffee, Water, Caffeine, Glycerin, Taurine, Glucuronolactone, B-Vitamins, Guarana, Sodium Benzoate, Natural & Artificial Flavors
I’ve long been a big fan of the packaging that Grinds provide. They come in a round plastic tin with a top compartment to store your used pouches. Each can also has an ingredients list and a “best before” date imprinted on it.
Grinds Black Coffee – Thoughts & Recommendation
Grinds are coffee products, so naturally they taste like coffee. That only makes sense. All of their previous products have been flavored so while they taste like coffee there is also other flavorings to “offset” the coffee flavor. This one doesn’t have that so it tastes… like coffee. It’s a dark rich flavor that if you were in a coffee shop would be described as “bold”. As with all the previous Grinds products I’ve reviewed there is more than enough dark brown saliva produced though you don’t have to spit if you don’t want to. Grinds is a product made from coffee so you’re really just “brewing” coffee in your mouth. If you’re not a coffee fan this one won’t be for you. If I were in my favorite coffee shop I’d probably opt for something a bit lighter, but as a chew alternative this offers a nice strong flavor that’s just on this side of “bitter” while still tasting like a nice roasted cup of coffee.
