Grinds Coffee Pouches – Cinnamon Whiskey Review
Over a month ago now I posted a TikTok about a new flavor from our friends at Grinds – their Cinnamon Whiskey pouches!
Some standard info to get out of the way that I include in all my Grinds reviews. If you’re not familiar with them, they’re made out of coffee grinds. All flavors of Grinds are pouch products so you don’t have to deal with cleanup or spitting if you don’t want to. The pouch itself you can’t swallow but the juices themselves are completely safe. These Orange Citrus pouches have the caffeine equivalent of a 1/2 cup of coffee – PER POUCH. I always do my testing with TWO pouches. This is an important note I like to point out for those folks who can’t have caffeine.
Grinds Cinnamon Whiskey Coffee Pouches Ingredients
From the label on the can: Coffee, Chicory, Glycerin, Natural & Artificial Flavors, Caffeine, Taurine, Glucuronolactone, B-Vitamins, Salt, Sucralose, Sodium Benzoate
Grinds packaging are a little larger than your traditional Kodiak, Skoal or Copenhagen cans but these are NOT flimsy cans that will crush when you sit on them. The top of the can pops off for you to put your used pouches though I’ve personally never used this feature. Each can also has an ingredients list and a “best before” date imprinted on it which I appreciate. I wish all alternative manufacturers would take note of this.
Grinds Cinnamon Whiskey Coffee Pouches – Thoughts & Recommendation
I’ll preface this by saying I’m a big whiskey fan, though if I’m being honest I can’t remember the last time I had Fireball, which is exactly what these taste like. These are pretty outstanding. I have to give Team Grinds some props here… as was the case with the Orange Citrus Pouches, you DON’T get a coffee flavor. That’s not a bad thing, but I do want to point it out since most of my Grinds reviews come with the caveat that if you don’t like coffee you won’t like them. NOT the case here.
I can’t say I get a ton of ‘whiskey’ flavor here as it’s really overpowered by the Cinnamon / Fireball flavor profiles. If you’re not a fan of cinnamon you won’t like these but if you are these are a huge recommend. These aren’t the ‘moiste-est’ (that’s not a word but I can’t think of another way to say it) but you get a ton of juice right away when you pop them in. As always, I used two pouches during my testing but one is probably sufficient.
It’s difficult for me to speak specifically to the caffeine content of these pouches as I’m always sufficiently caffeinated. If you get ‘jittery’ with caffeine you may want to start with one pouch as opposed to my two pouch regiment or you may need to steer clear of these.
With all Grinds products, there’s a TON of super dark brown saliva that’s produced if you choose to spit, but you don’t have to. I’d go so far as to say you’re not supposed to spit. The flavor of these pouches last quite a while – at least 20 minutes during my sampling.
Special thanks to the folks at Grinds for sending along samples for this review. You can find Grinds on the web at getgrinds.com or on Amazon. You can follow them on Twitter @getGRINDS. Tell em KillTheCan.org sent you to be a part of #TeamGrinds!
NOTE: the only place I’m seeing these on their website is as part of their BUILD YOUR OWN pack. Not sure if that will always be the case but as of this writing it is.
