Grinds Coffee Pouches – Orange Citrus 2X Caffeine Review
About a week ago I reviewed a new flavor from Grinds – their Double Shot Espresso Coffee Pouches. I’m back in short order today with another review of a new (at least to me) flavor from Grinds – introducing Grinds Orange Citrus Coffee Pouches!
Some standard info to get out of the way that I include in all my Grinds reviews. If you’re not familiar with them, they’re made out of coffee grinds. All flavors of Grinds are pouch products so you don’t have to deal with cleanup or spitting if you don’t want to. The pouch itself you can’t swallow but the juices themselves are completely safe. These Orange Citrus pouches have the caffeine equivalent of a 1/2 cup of coffee – PER POUCH. I always do my testing with TWO pouches. This is an important note I like to point out for those folks who can’t have caffeine.
Grinds Orange Citrus Coffee Pouches Ingredients
From the label on the can: Coffee, Chicory, Glycerin, Caffeine, Taurine, Glucuronolactone, B-Vitamins, Natural & Artificial Flavor, Sucralose, Salt, Sodium Benzoate
Grinds packaging has always been, and continues to be, a high quality round plastic tin. They’re a little larger than your traditional Kodiak, Skoal or Copenhagen cans but there are no flimsy cans that will crush when you sit on them. The top of the can pops off for you to put your used pouches though I’ve personally never used this feature. Each can also has an ingredients list and a “best before” date imprinted on it which I appreciate. I wish all alternative manufacturers would take note of this.
Grinds Orange Citrus Coffee Pouches – Thoughts & Recommendation
These are tremendous. And here’s the thing… this is the first Grinds product that I can remember where you DON’T get a coffee flavor. That’s not a bad thing, but I do want to point it out since most of my Grinds reviews come with the caveat that if you don’t like coffee you won’t like them. Absolutely NOT the case here.
BIG orange / citrus flavors right out of the gate that last a long time. Just like the Double Shot Espresso pouches, these aren’t super moist when you open up the can but you get a ton of juice right away. Don’t let the dryness fool you.
It’s difficult for me to speak specifically to the caffeine content of these pouches. As I sit down to write this review I’m on my second large mug. If you get ‘jittery’ with caffeine you may want to start with one pouch as opposed to my two pouch regiment.
With all Grinds products, there’s a TON of super dark brown saliva that’s produced if you choose to spit, but you don’t have to. I’d go so far as to say you’re not supposed to spit. The flavor of these pouches last quite a while – at least 20 minutes during my sampling. STRONG recommend for these!
