Hooch Snuff Peach Rough Cut Review

It’s been quite some time – nearly a year – since I’ve reviewed a new product from Hooch Snuff. Last January, they rolled out a new product called Rough Cut.  They’re back at it with a new flavor for the new year…

Introducing Hooch Snuff Peach!!!

As I do with all of my flavored chew reviews, I’ll go on record and remind folkd that I’m typically not a big fan of “flavored” chews.  I was a Kodiak Wintergreen guy for the majority of my chewing days, though I did go through a period of Skoal Cherry. *shudders*

Thoughts – Hooch Snuff Peach

GREAT smell when I popped open the can. Some of these flavored chews can really be overpowering when you pop them open and I’m happy to say this one was not. That being said, there was no doubt what flavor they were going for as this is CLEARLY peach.

I sampled the Rough Cut variety of Hooch Peach – I believe Peach is only available in Rough Cut for the time being. If you didn’t read my review of Hooch Rough Cut here’s a small snippet from Hooch describing this cut:

“This is our newest cut. It packs better in the tin and will hold together in the mouth like a long cut. So why not call it a long cut… We think it sounds better and better matches our process.”

This is still a pretty good description of the cut. It’s still not quite a long cut but I have to say that Hooch has made some pretty nice improvements to their rough cut since I sampled it nearly a year ago – I may have to go back and try out the other flavors again.

But I digress… back to Peach.

Great flavor here. As I said when I opened the can, you clearly know this is a peach flavored chew. If you don’t like peach, you won’t like this. If you do, you will. Simple as that.

As with all Hooch products, great spitability and longevity here. I really “work” my chews as I keep them in for 30 minutes or so at a time and I’m happy to say that the peach flavor was there the whole time and the dip really didn’t “float” around all that much in my mouth – that’s a very good thing in my book.

Recommendation

This is a very nice flavored chew.  I’m not typically a fan of anything not “traditional” wintergreen, mint, etc. but this is a nice departure for me.  Nice long lasting flavor with a cut that at this point is probably the closest thing on the market to a true “long cut” which I know a slew of quitters have been asking for.
