KillTheCan.org To Attend 2013 National Smokeless Summit

As we announced in a previous post, the 7th National Smokeless and Spit Tobacco Summit is making its return this year after a year off.  This year, it will be held on August 6th, 2013 on the campus of The University of Montana in Missoula, Montana.

I’m happy to officially announce that KillTheCan.org will once again be in attendance as a sponsor of this event!  We had an outstanding time when we visited Austin in 2011 and we’re very much looking forward to this event in August.

For those not familiar, here’s a brief description from their website:

The 7th National Smokeless and Spit Tobacco Summit is the ONLY national conference dedicated to addressing the health and social issues attributed to smokeless and spit tobacco use. 

The target audiences of the Summit  are as follows:

• Tobacco Prevention  & Cessation Specialists
• Public Health Officials
• Tribal Health Officials
• Dental Care Providers & Association Reps
• Medical Providers & Association Reps
• Voluntary Health Organizations
• Health Scientists, Researchers, Academia
• Health Science Writers
• Health Communication Organizations
• American Indian Tribal Leaders
• K-12 Health & P.E. Educators
• Military Leaders
• Parks & Recreation Leaders
• Youth Leadership Professionals
• Sports & Athletic Leaders
• Mining Industry Officials
• Law Enforcement Leaders
• Clergy
• Pharmaceutical Industry Representatives

The MAIN group left out of that list (in my humble opinion) is QUITTERS.  Well, we’re going to be there holding the flag for those addicts just as we did last time around. WE will be the voice of YOU.

We’re hoping to send at least 2 of our “staff” to the event with all their expenses paid.  Expenses include summit sponsorship, hotel, travel, booth materials, etc.  We estimate this to be around $5,000 when all is said and done.  And while we NEVER will ask for money to keep the site, forum or chat running, we’ve had requests from several members on how they can help.
