Living In The Moment
If I live in the moment I don’t think about the past or the future. I don’t remember the so called good times with dipping. I don’t think about stopping at the gas station for a tin before work. It sounded strange to me at first to live in the moment, but it helped me so much once it became routine. I remember craving for a lip and thinking about stopping at the gas station. When I got in my car I just put on a good song and drove to work and not to the gas station. Just focused on the task at hand instead of getting that tin. Whether it was just looking around at the scenery, praying, or playing a little xbox, I lived in the moment. And I continue to do so today. Jogging definitely helped as well. Not only did it clear my head, but once I started doing it a lot, I couldn’t bring my self to think about dipping because I just want to be healthy. Now I jog 2 miles just about everyday. Someone threw a tin on the side of the road months ago and everyday that I jog, I pass it and keep going without a thought. The old me would have picked it up to see if any was left. When I started jogging and quitting in May, I weighed 212 pounds. Now at day 105 of my quit, I weigh 172. I feel good and I look good. All I know is today I’m not dipping.
