My brother Syndrome, and ‘Yesterday +1’
As regular readers of my brother’s introduction can attest, Syndrome’s use of the English language can be described as “rough” at best. That is why, some months ago, he came to me for help in crafting his Hall of Fame speech. It is also why he came to me, to help express his ideas on the KTC blog. My brother is not an idiot, though his way with words is often difficult to decipher. If he were truly an idiot, I would not have agreed to do this.
Have you ever wondered why my brother posts “syndrome – yesterday +1” in roll, day after day? It is not entirely because big numbers confuse him. You see, as most here, he views the quit groups, and roll, as a daily promise not to dip today. It doesn’t matter whether your quit is 5 days, 50 days, or 500 days – your post in roll and various quit groups is your pledge for today and today only.
This line of reasoning is not to diminish your accomplishments, because you should all have pride in your quit, whether it be a week, a month, or a year. I am almost sure Syndrome will celebrate milestone days with more traditional posts. After all, my brother can tell you his quit date with pride, for it is the second most important date in his battle with nicotine. Today, or “yesterday +1” is the most important. Quit today. Quit for the day.

nice work sibling o’ syndrome!! Agree, agree
Bravo S’s Brother… quitting daily has gotten me to where I am today. I’m never going back. It’s weird. If you were to have told me that I’ve EVER be over 1,000 days quit I would have told you that you were crazy. But I don’t think about “forever” then it’s very possible.
