Shane Miller (smiller1207- HOF Speech)
To everyone that has helped me, know that I appreciate it more than you will ever know. After 34 years I had pretty much given up on ever quitting. Finally, back in late October of 2018, after yet another “oral cancer” scare, I knew it was either quit or die. I also knew that I needed help. I went to Google and typed in “How to quit dipping”. Next thing I know, I’m all over the KTC site. I was reading all testimonials and the sad stories. After just a few minutes, I knew this was the site for me. I joined on Oct. 29, 2018 (day 1). The very next day, I got a call from Keith. I think we talked for about 40 minutes and after we hung up, I just had this feeling that I could really quit this time. Here I am 100 days later. Has it been easy? Hell no. Still can have those fierce “cravings” from time to time and I guess I (we) always will. Thanks to suggestions from Keith, Boovie, Mike, and Scott (a few others as well), I’ve been able to withstand those cravings without caving. All of you, even those I’ve never talked to, need to know how much you have helped me and how much you are helping others (not just to quit, but to keep living!). Not everyone is a successful quitter but this site forgives the cavers and welcomes them back. We must always strive to support each other in maintaining our quits but also recognize that it might be harder, sometimes even impossible, for others. As for me, I’ll continue to post roll every day and keep maintaining my quit. To whoever started this site and to all those who help maintain it, I (and my family) can never thank you enough. Everyone of you on this site has my deepest gratitude. I look forward to welcoming others into the HOF and let’s all “Keep the quit!!”
