Upcoming Planned Chat Server Upgrade – 11/27/2014

Wanted to pass along some upcoming planned maintenance for our live quitter chat – chat.killthecan.org

We got a note from our chat host this AM letting us know that on Thursday, November 27th for about 2 hours chat will be unavailabe.  Here’s the note we received (with some technical details removed):

Dear Customer,

We continue to make significant improvements to customer service. To keep your chat running smoothly, we are planning to transfer your chat server to a totally new anti-ddos server, due to recent hacker attacks three weeks ago. 

The following upgrade event is planned:

This maintenance has been scheduled on 27 Nov. 2014, for up to 1.5 hours between 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. GMT+8, there will be impacts to the following services:

For those of you that don’t know your time zones (I didn’t… had to look it up), 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM GMT +8 is 1:00 AM to 2:30 AM.  I doubt this will affect many people so early into their Thanksgiving day, but wanted to pass it along.
