Your Quit

Vets, Newbs, and Tweens – Different Types of Quitters

Types of Quitters

There are three kinds of people here:  vets, newbs, and tweens.  Don’t ask me when one passes from one stage to the next.  It’s different for every person.

Vets:  They are passionate about their quit.  They post roll every day even in the 1,000 and 2,000 day range.  They want to help you.  They want you free.  No matter how hard you try you don’t know more than them.  When they speak, shut up and listen.

Tweens:  Lots of days, but still not out of the woods.  Some are pre hall, some are post hall.  Still more days than the newbs, but still in the thick of the fight.  When they speak, shut up and listen

Newbs:  Your brothers in your current group.  Some will make their way to the top category, others will fail before the weekend is out.  When they speak, shut up and listen….and support.

Bottom line is, if you want to come here for a giant pissing contest that’s fine.  You can feel like you one up’d a vet, tween or newb to death.  But when you close that computer lid, it’s still going to be you against her.  Alone.  No matter how you did blasting someone on the forum.

She is going to blow you with a 1,000 degree hair dryer in the middle of the night.

She’s going to “tap” your head with a jackhammer days at a time.

She’s going to keep you awake at night.

She will make you mad for no reason.

She will make you fidgety, constipated, sad, you name it.  All in an effort to get you back.

So when you come to this site, think about how you want yourself and someone else to leave.  Will you want them to leave pissed, being one more step towards a cave?  Or do you want them leaving knowing you were there to help and led them a step closer to freedom.

The key is, shut up and listen.
