Is bac off safe for someone who has celiac disease? My husband can’t have any gluten.
Hi Chloe – I would suggest taking the ingredients off a Baccoff can and running them by your husband’s doctor just to be sure.
Would like to know if any of your chews, have gluten in them?
Hey Nicholas – I ‘think’ the answer is ‘no’ but I’ve reached out to Baccoff to confirm. Will let you know what I hear.
Any answer to this?
Apologies… here’s what I heard back:
We are not certified gluten free, however we have several people using Baccoff with a gluten intolerance that have reported having no issues. The vinegar used in Baccoff will contain an extremely small amount of gluten (20 parts per million in a barrel) One barrel is spread over many batches
I’m also diabetic would classic mint drive ur sugar levels up
Per BaccOff customer service: “There are 0g of sugar per pouch and < 1g total carbs per pouch.”
Can I swollo it
You can swallow the spit. I would not suggest swallowing the product itself.
what is back off additional ingredients if any?
I’m not sure Anthony – is there some ingredient that you’re specifically looking for or looking to avoid? I’d be happy to reach out to them to see if I can find out.
I am gluetin intolerant I need to know if there is any wheat rye or barley used in the making of your product. Thank you
Isn’t caramel coloring bad for you
I spose everything can be defined as ‘bad’ for you. What context are you referring to?
I am diabetic. I see Baccoff has some sugar content. CAN I USE IT SAFLY without affecting my A1C?
Good morning Vincent – will reach out to BaccOff to see what I can find…
Went back through my emails and I have this from BaccOff customer service:
“There are 0g of sugar per pouch and < 1g total carbs per pouch."
How can there be 0 grams of sugar when it says it has sugar in it.
I can only assume that would mean it would be less than one gram of sugar. You’d have to reach out to BaccOff for more specifics / clarification.
BaccOff’s Rough Cuts are sugar free. https://dipstop.com/product-category/mint-chew-rough-cuts/
BaccOff’s Rough Cuts are sugar free. You can check out all the sugar, salt and caffeine content of each of the products here
Does this product contain vitamin K? I’m on warfarin and would like to know.
Per Baccoff – “No sir no vitamin K in any of our products. If they are concerned about added energy ingredients, would just recommend they stay away from our two energized products, which are also available in regular versions.”
Can you tell me if the product contains carbs? I’m on Keto and recently discovered that Copenhagen has a ton in it!
Hi Billy – I honestly don’t know. I don’t ‘think’ so but you never know where there are hidden carbs. I’ve reached out to the folks at BaccOff to see if I can’t get a better answer. Will let you know what they have to say.
Hi Billy – I heard back from the folks at BaccOff – here’s their answer:
“Our products have between 0-0.6g carbs per serving. Rough cuts are 0g, pouches, .1g, and Fine cuts .5-.6g depending on the flavor.”
Hope that helps!
Is this product safe to swallow?
Yes, with the exception of the POUCH products, Bacc-Off products are safe to swallow.
Thank you for the response, what is the issue with the pouch products if you swallow them?
You can swallow the juices from the pouch products… I was referring to the pouches themselves.
Does Bacc Off have Vitamin K — am wondering about those on Warfarin who need to avoid high levels of Vitamin k
That is also my question.
I don’t ‘think’ so… but I’ll reach out to Baccoff to see if I can get confirmed answer…
Does anyone know what the sodium quantity is in a can of the rough cut wintergreen? I have high blood pressure and want to know how much additional sodium to account for.
5mg per can, called the corporate number and verified it. I had the same issue.
Does BaccOff have fiber glass in it
It does not.
Is it safe to swallow this product
How much salt is in baccoff straight fine cut?
Curious if people gut their Bacc-Off? I currently do and tend to get a sore throat.
How much sugar is in your product? My husband dips, and is a diabetic, and they believe the chew is raising his sugar levels, he wants to quit, but needs to know how much sugar is your product.
Hi Cynthia – honestly I don’t know, but I’m happy to reach out to BaccOff to see what I can find out. Will get back to you.
Hi Chewie – I too am a diabetic and have dipped for 45 years and would like to quit. Does Baccoff fine cut Straight contain sugar and if so is it enough to affect sugar levels. Thank You.
Hi Jerry – here’s what I heard back from BaccOff:
“Our fine cut, or tea leaf, products do contain added sugar. That also includes all pouches and the Mocha flavor.
An entire can has approximately 5 grams of sugar, which is the amount found in a single serving packet of sugar.
Our two rough cut, peppermint leaf products do not contain added sugar.
I would recommend this customer only use the rough cut mint or wintergreen if he is concerned about his sugar levels.”
Hi I need to know if there is aspartame in this product

Do any of these products taste anything like the real deal? That would be the issue for me quitting is that I enjoy the wintergreen and mint flavor.
Hey Mike – the short answer is yes, some of them do. Some brands / flavors are exceptionally close to the real thing, others, not so much. That said, let me know what brand / flavor you’re trying to emulate and I’ll try point you in the right direction.
Chewie –
What is the brand that tastes closest to Skoal Mint and Straight?
I’m 16 and I quit dipping but I still want to it can’t cause any kind of mouth cancer or anything like that can it I know I probably sound like a dumb a** but I’m just curious the whole purpose is it is to not cause mouth cancer right?
There is no tobacco and no nicotine in these products. Go for it.
Just wanted to say how much baccoff has helped me quit dipping. I was very skeptical at first, but man it really helps. Amazingly the straight cut mocha is delicious. For what it’s worth, I highly recommend baccoff.
Is it sold in nc
Does tea leaves by themselves contain caffeine? Im looking for caffeine free pouches. Thanks
I can’t say for sure, but I’d say yes, tea will contain caffeine.
I want to know would this be safe for kids or would it be illegal
Hey Dude – tough for me to answer this. You can read the ingredients above and determine if you’d want your kids to ingest them. Personally as a father I would not but it would depend in the kid’s age, your parenting style, etc. There’s nothing inherently “bad” about these ingredients, but I wouldn’t want my 10 year old to be having something as “simple” as tea leaves.
I can’t find any references on the BaccOff website to whether or note they’ll sell to minors but I seem to recall they (or perhaps another alternative vendor) would not. That said, I’m not a lawyer but I don’t think there are any “legal” issues surrounding its sale as it doesn’t contain nicotine or tobacco… but don’t quote me on that.
I have dipped Grinds, another alternative, and I had to show my ID.
So I have to quit dipping for medical reasons but it’s very hard and I’d like to try this. My question though isn’t if this is “good” for you, but more if it’s “not bad” for you. Obviously it’s better than dip, but is it still bad for your gums to have something sitting in between your gum and your lip for an extended period of time everyday? Or is it only bad depending on what it is? Basically, could this still lead to some sort of negative effect on my gums in the future?
I’m quitting dipping for the same reason. Your gums will naturally get aggravated the longer something is against it. It might cause them to get irritated and sore but I do not believe anything much harsher than that should come of it.
Does BaccOff products contain ethyl alcohol? Specifically straight flavor.
Barry – I don’t believe so. I will reach out to Bacc Off to confirm and let you know what I hear.
Barry – I reached out to BaccOff and got an updated ingredients list (see above). To answer your question, neithet BaccOff Straight nor BaccOff Energized Straight contain ethyl alcohol.
Hello folks, I’m new to these ‘baccer alternatives and have one major question: do they contain sugars? Sticking sugar in your lip instead of ‘baccer is obviously better but still not a good thing for tooth decay. Anyone have an answer?
Hey Jon – the majority of these products do NOT contain sugar. All ingredients lists (that we’ve accumulated) are listed here: https://www.killthecan.org/your-quit/smokeless-alternative-ingredients/
do bacc off wintergreen or smokey mountain wintergreen contain any caffeine?
BaccOff Original wintergreen is made with mint leaves and should not have any caffeine. BaccOff extra wintergreen is made with tea leaves and will have a small amount of caffeine in it. BaccOff Energized has caffeine as well as the other ingredients you would find in an energy drink in it.
I’m curious to know if there would be a comparison to Copenhagen long cut or snuff.
I can’t find your product at any Walmart in El Paso TX. I’m a truck driver, El Paso is my home. As a truck driver, it is difficult getting into a Walmart on the road. I think you are missing a marketing opportunity by not selling in in truck stops. Any suggestions as to where I can find it?
Hey Tom – you can always find their products on their site: https://dipstop.com/https://dipstop.com/
