Anyone find anything similiar to grizzly fine cut natural?

I have been a long time Copenhagen long cut Dipper (nothing else compares at all), down to a roll every week in a half now from 2 cans a day. My wife and kids have begged me to quit. I am now going to take the step forward, man up and do it. I’ve tried before yet always needing something in my mouth. Hence I tried out the Smokey mountain product and did not like it at all. This was a failed attempt. Anyone here the same, or was the same as I, and what product is closest to Copenhagen long cut? Any suggestions I would be very pleased with.

Hey Justin,
Nothing that you see of these fake dips will replace the real stuff. What you have to do, is find one “that’ll do”. Personally, I enjoyed the Triumph line. If you try them, be sure to only use the Zero Strength variety, since they have some products that are tobacco free, but with nicotine additives. I also like Hooch, the feel was really close to the real stuff….Spitfire and Peach we’re my favorites. Key Lime was good too. I always thought Smokey Mountain Straight and Classic “tasted” like Cope…but I was a Skoal guy. I tried a lot of them, Jake’s, Eagle, Holt, Bacoff, Elicit (I like Elicit, very fine cut tho). I can’t remember all of them…but I rarely use them now, over 3 years clean.
But, none of them will be an “exact” replacement. You just have to “man up”, find one that will do and stay away from nicotine.
It’s the hardest and most rewarding thing I did for myself….and no one else. It’s a selfish statement, but when it comes down to it, you have to do it for yourself to keep yourself honest.
I was a Skoal long cut guy, Triumph classic and Wintergreen we’re the ones that I felt “would do”. We’re all different. I also used sunflower seeds like crazy. Gum, water, cardio, a heavy bag, this website, God….they were all my tools to get through the craziness. I suggest trying a few samplers from the companies to find one that will do. Good Luck Justin!

I will share what is working well for me. I’ve been chewing for over 31 years now, and have found that changing flavor or brand at any point of those 31 years to be a challenge, simply because it’s something different in my mouth (flavor, texture). As a true and willing addict I have adapted each time to a new flavor.
My previous attempts to quit over the years have failed, and dramatically at that. It seemed that breaking the nicotine addiction and keeping my mouth entertained were too large of a mountain to climb. So I broke this into a two part process. Part 1 is breaking the nicotine addiction and Part 2 is addressing the never ending fetish to have something in my mouth.
Find a flavor that you can tolerate, spend the time and money on different products, and do this long enough and you will find something you don’t completely dislike. Given the previous failures, I decided to try blending the new herbal with my favorite real tobacco. I started with 80% real / 20% herbal to get used to the new flavor and texture in my mouth. Naturally I found the initial change very difficult, but I hunkered down knowing I could outlast this unhappiness. And outlast I did. I have been gradually working my blend down of the real chew and currently at 10% real and 90% herbal. Each step downward has been fairly uneventful for me. Take your time at this. It’s not unreasonable that you spend a number of months working to the goal of 0% real chew. I’m very confident that the end of the real is close for me and I’ve not lost my mind doing it either. Once my nicotine addiction is a distant memory I will consider reduction of the herbal. Frankly I’m just not concerned about ending the mouth fetish portion at this time. It just doesn’t matter, and doesn’t do the damage that real tobacco does to us. Commit to your process, put it on a calendar to track progress if needed. Keep your wife and kids involved in your plan and progress. They are an awesome cheerleading section for you, and I bet they would be willing to help any way they can. Good luck, you’ll get where you want to be.

I’m just starting the quitting process. I really like your idea. Could you give me a sample of time? Say 2 weeks 90-10 and then 2 weeks 80-20. Is that correct? Been dipping cope for 37 years and trying to get this over with.

I also find little things each time I try to quit that hold me back and this time it is finding one of the alternatives doesn’t pack like sh*t… I’ve been trying smoky mountain and after what seems like a good tight wad it falls apart in what seems like seconds and at times is just a mess coming out of the can…

Any suggestions out there?

Hey, Andy! After trying several options I have found Hooch to feel and pack most like tobacco. However, personally, I don’t feel, like their flavor is all that great. In my opinion Key Lime is best followed by Whiskey. The other thing I’ve done is purchase a can of Bacc-Off Wintergreen Energized and a can of their Wintergreen rough cut. Mixed the 2 together in a baggie and then scooped them back into the cans and found that to pack okay. I never used pouches with tobacco, but I don’t mind Bacc-Off’s Wintergreen, Straight and Mint pouches.

Hey y’all, my husband is a Copenhagen snuff user since we were in high school. We have a 16 month old and a baby on the way and he is really ready to quit so I’m doing my best to be supportive and find a way to help. I was going to order the smokey mountain straight but just curious if anyone else was a Copenhagen snuff user and found a “similar” alternative. Thanks!

Buy him a bunch of different flavored sunflower seeds (I like Bigs Seeds because I can order them right from their website). For the fake snuff, I tried Jakes, Smokey Mountain, and Bacc off, with Smokey Mountain being my favorite because of the flavor and texture. Smokey mountain wintergreen is the one I buy the most even though I was a Copenhagen addict, but I have to say the grape Smokey Mountain tastes like Hubba Bubba!

I am just over a year and never imagined I would be able to make it this far. The seeds and Smokey Mountain definitely gave me the advantage. Good Luck!

Dave, I always thought Smokey Mountain Straight (and even the Classic) tasted like Copenhagen. Obviously, the cut is longer, but the taste, to me, was similar.
You won’t find anything that will be “exactly” the same, I never found a replacement that was “exactly” like Skoal Wintergreen, the key is finding something that “will do”.

I am looking to quit dipping but find myself wanting a dip when I am sewing, cleaning, and a lot of other things. I use Copenhagen Wintergreen. I am really big on the texture and have found that this is my biggest problem with the nicotine free alternatives. Does anyone have any suggestions on one that is not dry, is more of a long cut, and won’t fall apart within seconds of putting a pinch in?

I’ve dipped Copenhagen Wintergreen long cut for 8 years & tried several different alternatives. The best way to find your right fix, is to order 1 can of as many different brands as possible.

I’m big on the flavor of Cope Wgreen. But, if an alternative doesn’t provide that same kind of burn, it just isn’t good enough for me. After reading a lot of reviews, I decided to try HOOCH – Spitfire flavor (made w/ Tabasco & Cayenne pepper). Sounds odd, but works. It gives a better burn than any tobacco I’ve ever used & the rough cut is the best texture of any I’ve tried.

Halden, you will not find anything “exactly” like your Cope. The key with these fake chews is to find something either “close” or one that “will do”. Personally, I used Skoal Long Cut Wintergreen. I found that Smokey Mountain Wintergreen, Hooch Classic and Triumph (zero strength-no nic) Classic & Wintergreen “worked”. None of them were anything near that nasty ass Skoal I abused for 30 years. I found that these ones were what helped me in a pinch. Fast Forward almost 3 years, I still use all three of these brands, once in a while, when I’m in the mood.
Most of the cope users said that the Triumph Zero Strength Cinnamon was good, because it burned. They also said that the Hooch Spitfire did as well. I can tell you that the “finest” cut I had was from Elicit. Not sure if they are even around anymore, but their cut reminded me of the Cope cut. I have always thought that Smokey Mountain Classic and Straight “tasted” somewhat like Cope. I chewed Skoal, but have tried many of the brands out there, Cope included. I was a Kodiak guy long before the Skoal.
But none of them will be exactly like your Cope…the key, find one that does the job and stop using the nicotine.
Good Luck!

Hey guys – was a big Grizzly wintergreen (dark) pouches guy. I was a big fan of how juicy they were – i’m going on a week now tobacco free and have tried Grinds (all of them basically suck, and they are incredibly dry). The TeaZa stuff isn’t bad, though you don’t spit with that, its basically just like an oversized Snus with orbit gum inside. Any suggestions what is closest like Griz Wintergreen Pouches? Trying to be done for good, so any suggestions at least close to what Griz was like would be helpful. Thanks!

Habitual Havits.

I acknowledge that I need help. I recently had fluid on my brain that would not drain or be absorbed into my body. It required two shunts be put in my brain. My wife would like for me to quite dipping. For the record, I would like that as well. 40 years of dipping is enough! I have tried to quite in the past. For me, the nicotine is relatively easy to quite. However, the habit of dipping is my down fall. Any ideas on a substitute that will help with that urge? (If I am hunting in the woods, I’m going to put in a dip.)

I’m leaning towards nuts of some kind. Any suggestions you have for me will be greatly appreciated.

Dude… Bottom line: If you gonna quit, you gotta make friends with pain. No fake dip even comes close to Copenhagen long cut. Copey ain’t sweet. Every single fake-dip I’ve tried is sweet as hell. The “straight” stuff tastes like Pepto Bismol. But even if you did miraculously find something that was close, it won’t have nicotine in it. So your body and your mind are gonna scream like your skin’s crawling off. Just gotta bust it upside the head. Don’t give in. Get pissed off about it. Grit your teeth. Kick something. Make friends with pain.

That’s what I did with both dip and OXYCODONE! Talk about some withdrawals now…

Three years clean this Thanksgiving. Nowadays, I miss my old friend “Pain.” 😉

Best of luck, friend.

Hey Tom I also have been chewing griz wintergreen for the most of my 18 years of chewing. I have tried to quit also without much luck so far. Give triumph chew a try buy online with different strengths of nicotine including 0. You have to really want to quit. That being said I’m gearing up to go another round with quitting again and have a stash of triumph in different flavors. I really also need to quit. Good luck Tom!

Hey Brandon,
I’m partial to the loose stuff, as stated by Chewie, BaccOff has pouches and Triumph now has pouches too. I bought a can of Triumph pouches for a friend trying to quit, he too uses (notice I said uses, he hasn’t quit…Yet) Grizzly. He did say they were juicy…I tried one, but for me, I’ve always used loose. I never could get them pouches “wet” enough for a spat. They seemed like the Skoal pouches to me. Just thought I’d give you another option. I will add, if you do try the Triumph patches, be sure you order the “Zero Strength” ones (no Nicotine). Otherwise you’re not getting away from one of the biggest problems with dipping, the Nicotine!
Good luck.

Quit just before Xmas (for like the umpteenth time). Dipped for I don’t even wanna count the years (or more like decades). I flipped between Skoal Mint and straight Cope. Maybe I’m weird, but while most people miss the burn, I miss the spitting. It must be my attention span–I need for something to occupy me. Anyways, any recommendations on which brands are best spitting tobaccos would be great. I think that would help me quit forever this time. I did try some of these before, but I found that if I didn’t need to spit, then I basically would wind up eating them.

Hey Joe,
I just finished a can of Classic Hooch myself, about a week ago…Like Chewie, I was a Wintergreen guy (Skoal), but I had tried Cope several times in my 30 years of abuse. I’d say the Classic Hooch or the Smokey Mountain Straight is “close” to cope. The SpitFire sure does give some burn…I’ve tried that too.
I am partial to the Triumph Zero Strength products, that do not include nicotine.
But recently, I purchased a variety pack of the “rough cut” (they offer a fine cut too) of Hooch and was much more impressed this time around than my first. I’d say the “feel” is very close to tobacco. Some of them do give a good burn too.
So, I recommend trying the Hooch variety and Smokey Mountain classic or straight…Those are close to the taste of Cope.
I read someone out here thought the Classic Triumph and the Cinnamon Triumph were close to cope…Although a great fake alternative, I didn’t find either of them Cope like… Different strokes for different folks I guess.
The key, finding something that will “do” while you get away from nicotine.
Good Luck!

Cush, the Hottest Herbal Chew I’ve had is SpitFire and it’s made by Hooch. In fact, I just ordered an 8 can sampler. I’ve been kind of wanting to try it again. I had it about 2 years ago and found it has the most burn.
Also, give the Zero Strength Triumph, Cinnamon flavor a try….It too has some burn. But hands down, the Spit Fire Hooch is the hottest herbal I’ve tried. I beleive they use a dry tobassco and Cheyenne Pepper in it….It warn for sure.
Remember, none of these herbals will be “exactly” the same as the junk we’ve all abused for years. The key is, finding something that will “due”.
Good Luck!

Dumb down your expectations 1st & foremost when it comes to fake dip, nothing is gonna replace that chemically laced crap you shovel into your face. Once you do that, try Hooch, def got some burn to it. That being 40 yrs old comment, c’mon dude, not trying to be a jerk, but that’s a ridiculous comment from someone that doesn’t wanna quit. I’m 45 yrs old, dipped since I was 10 yrs old, 2 yrs quit this month. Once you take it seriously, you can do it.

Wolf replacement. Need some help quitting. I can go days without dip, but I always seem to go back to my bad habit. After 20 years of pouches, I got to break this! I have tries some of these, but good god the taste is horrible. I like the Wolf brand because of the moisture of the pouches. I would love to have something that is affordable, but also provides some sort of health aspect. I’d love some recommendations on something that will help, but not taste like crap.

Hi there. I’ve been an avid smokeless tobacco user for 17 years. I mostly used Copenhagen Long Cut and various brands of Wintergreen snuff. I just recently decided to quit and I’m proud to say that I’ve been tobacco free and nicotine free as of 10/15/16. I quit cold turkey without any assistance. The first two days were extremely hard, but it does get easier as time goes on and it is totally worth it. Quitting cold turkey is the best way to go. I feel like I don’t need the nicotine anymore and I’m not craving it either.

There are days where I can go without having anything in mouth, however, I do find myself chewing a lot of gum at times, and once in a while I will still get that urge to have some kind of tobacco-like substance in my lip since I was so used to having a chew in my lip throughout most of the day, so I recently decided to give some of the tobacco free herbal snuff a try just to satisfy my urges, and let me tell you, they do not disappoint. I’m just extremely happy knowing that there’s a type of snuff out there that won’t actually kill me or cause problems with my mouth. The only ones that I’ve tried are Bacc Off and Smokey Mountain. I do plan on trying Hooch soon though.

These are my opinions of the two herbal snuffs that I’ve tried: Smokey Mountain was the first herbal snuff that I’ve tried. It has a great bold taste. The best way I can describe it is that it doesn’t taste like any type of real snuff that I’ve ever had before. All of the flavors that I’ve tried have a very outdoors type taste, almost something like a hickory smoked flavor, and all of the flavors have a bit of a bite to them due to the cayenne pepper in it. The texture and consistency though was a little disappointing. It would usually break apart in my lip fairly easy, leaving a lot of floaties. The flavors I’ve tried from Smokey Mountain were Wintergreen, Grape, Cherry and Classic. Wintergreen and Grape being my favorites, Classic being my least favorite and Cherry being somewhere in the middle. I still have yet to try the Peach, Citrus, Arctic Mint and Straight flavors.

Bacc Off is a whole different story. The texture and consistency was great and didn’t break apart as easily, but the taste was horrible. I’ve only tried the Wintergreen and Straight flavors from Bacc Off. I thought that the Wintergreen had way too much peppermint in it and the Straight flavor tasted like the smell of dish washing detergent. Both the Wintergreen and Straight flavors of this brand of herbal snuff definitely reminded me of Kodiak snuff which I absolutely hated when I was chewing the real stuff. I most likely won’t be purchasing anymore of the Bacc Off Herbal Snuff in the future because of the horrible taste.

I’m hoping that Hooch has the bold taste of Smokey Mountain mixed with the texture and consistency of Bacc Off. For the Hooch flavors, I was planning on trying the Wintergreen, Classic, Spitfire and Whiskey flavors. If anyone else has any suggestions for their favorite herbal snuff or flavors, let me know. I’m a big Wintergreen and Copenhagen Long Cut person, so I’ll like pretty much anything with a Wintergreen or a Copenhagen Long Cut taste.

I really liked the Triumph line too. Just stay away from the ones that contain nicotine. You want the “Zero Strength” (No Nicotine) ones if you order.
But you are certainly on the right track…let everyone know what your thoughts are…people like to hear the good and bad on products. I’ve tried almost all of them…they truly are all, great products.

Thanks JP. I’m so glad I quit. I look back at it now and think “All of those years that I’ve wasted money on tobacco, I could’ve saved.” That’s one great thing about quitting. It leaves a little extra money in your pocket, and the other is not having a dependency anymore. I should’ve quit sooner, but oh well, lesson learned.

I’ve been tobacco free now foe over 3 years. For me what worked there best was coffee grounds. If you like coffee it’s the best way to go. I would carry it in an old Kodiak can and get a dip whenever I had the urge. I still use it to battle the occasional urge. The absolute best part is my job provides coffee so it doesn’t cost me a thing. If you spit it it has a similar color to real snuff or you can swallow with no trouble. I hope this helps someone. Thanks and don’t give up!

Steve & Rob,
I was a Skoal guy, but now am over 700 days free from that shit. I’m going to tell you both (and the entire board), there isn’t a single fake alternative that is going to give you the all in one, “same” taste, feel and satisfaction as the real stuff. Some of them will be close on flavor, I think the Straight Smokey Mountain is very close to Cope. Some will be close on cut, I think Elicit (Zero Strength) was very close to Skoal Wintergreen Fine Cut. The Hooch Line of products had a really good “feel” to them in my lip. I was a fan of their Spit Fire flavor, it was HOT! Golden Eagle had a good feel, but lacked on flavor, same with BaccOff. Holt was different, since it was made with Alfalfa, had a green tint, good feel, decent flavor, just wasn’t my favorite. Jakes is a pretty good product too, but again, flavor seems to lack. These are all my own personal opinions, what I dislike, you may love.
Regardless, the key to all of these alternatives, is finding one that “will do”. Just find one you can live with and roll with it. Pretend that Grizzly went out of business and this is all that’s out there. You’ve got to do some convincing to yourself if you really want to be quit. Personally, I like the Triumph products. I like them so much, that I will never go back to tobacco again. If I want a dip, it will be a Zero Strength (NO Nicotine) Triumph. I also like Smokey Mountain in a pinch, if I run out of my Triumph and am waiting for my supply to come in the mail.
You guys just got to get out and try these different alternatives. I “hear” the Teaza line is great as well, but I cannot stake a claim, since I haven’t tried it. There are so many great ones out there today, which has made my quit a hell of a lot easier today, than my failed attempt back 15-20 years ago.
Good Luck!

Im sure you’ve answered something similar to this, but on day two of my quit after about ten years I’m sure u can understand my lack of patience at the moment.. Ive tried smokey mountain and it made my mouth feel horrible. Think it was the molasses? I’m looking for something with the least amount of molasses or sugar or whatever is so sweet it feels my teeth are going to rot out in a week. I dipped skoal long cut and chewed red man so I don’t think I’d be a fan of anything very finely ground.. Flavor isn’t a big deal just want something that will pack real well and not float around my mouth and won’t eat through my teeth. Thanks a lot for the advice and this website is a great thing your doing.

I absolutely, absolutely RECOMMEND TRIUMPH CHEW. I am on day 2 and going strong with no urges of wanting to buy a can of my favorite skoal mint pouches. I had tried the Bacoff, every flavor of grinds, smokey mountain. None of these had that wetness and made you spit like my skoal mint pouches. They were all just to dry. I had posted on here (somewhere) and someone recommended I try triumph chew pouches. I went to the website and 5 cans of the half nicotine. These are the best things so far. I still am spitting in my spit cup at work like I always did (the habit part). It feels like a normal pouch with the wetness. I am on day 1 and half and really enjoying not spending my regular 5$ on a can of chew, and a drink (habit). Plus the triumph mint flavor tastes kind of good. AGAIN, HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU TRY TRIUMPH. I ordered the 5 cans Monday, and they were here by Wednesday

TO, nothing touches Teaza, a great product. I dig the Blackberry.

MT,
I’d point you to Smokey Mountain Straight. The taste is close, as is the feel.
Remember, NONE of these take dips will “exactly” replicate the tobacco abused for all those years. The trick here, is to find one that “will do”. I haven’t found any that are exactly like tobacco. But I do think Smokey Mountain offers a good product that feels like dip and tastes a little like it too…the spit is brown too!
Good Luck!

Hey, I have been searching your reviews, and all over the internet/youtube and need your suggestion. I am looking for the closest alternative to Skoal Straight Long Cut..I can not put an honest effort into quitting with pouches, and the fine cut alternatives aren’t doing it either…long cut, moist, and as close to a taste to skoal straight as I can get will be the best choice. Do you have any options for me to try? Thanks!

Thank you! I ordered BACCOFF but I will definitely take your recommendation if these don’t do the job.

Pete,
The”best” tasting mint I’ve had was Triumph Herbal Chew. Smokey Mountain Artic Ice isn’t too bad either..Hooch also has a Mint flavor.
If you try Triumph, be sure you try Zero Strength (Nicotine Free)…I do not subscribe to anything with Nicotine in it. Done with that shit. Good Luck.

Looking for an alternative to Grizzy Mint Longcut. I tried Grinds variety pack but it wasn’t gross enough. Need something closer to tobacco – def not pouches. Thank you.

Hey Chris,
I haven’t had it in quite some time, but the Elicit brand of Herbal Chew is really fine cut. When I tried it, it reminded my of the Cope cut. The flavor is pretty good too.
*Beware though*
Elicit sells their products with and without nicotine in them!
I only tried the “Zero Strength” or Nicotine Free versions….no more of that poison for this 30 year EX dipper!!
Good luck!!

Hooch classic is the closest I have found to Copenhagen so far, it is still a little bit sweet but the consistency is right, I got a sampler from them so I am going to try all of their flavors, I just need that fine cut feel, any others that are ground fine

is there an alternative that had a similar consistency to Copenhagen fine cut, taste isn’t as big an issue with me as how it feels. I don’t need the nicotine I am addicted to the feel

Try Mingua Jerky cans. It’s ground jerky in basically a dip can. It would be like fine cut, and the salt from the jerry makes it burn in your lip.

I’m looking for a good alternative to Copenhagen wintergreen. I’m looking for something that feels like the real thing rather than a specific flavour. I have tried smokey mountain and hated the feel and texture of it. Grinds were fantastic (I love coffee) but I would prefer something that feels like Copenhagen long cut over the pouch.

The one that I thought most “felt” like tobacco is/was Hooch. Hands down, Hooch had a real good “feel”. I am a huge fan of Triumph products. But beware…some of their products can be purchased with Nicotine in them. I DO NOT use any forms of nicotine anymore. Being quit, means just that, QUIT from nicotine.
But I liked the taste and feel of Triumph. But if you’re just looking for feel and not necessarily taste…give Hooch a shot.

I guess it’s the consistency that gets me the most. SMC just doesn’t have the same consistency as Copenhagen long cut. It doesn’t pack right and you can’t move it around once you put it in its permanent. I ordered some triumph zero nicotine and we will see how that goes. If that’s a no-go I will definitely try hooch and holt. Thanks for the help and support.

Hey Tim, I’m a Triumph guy myself. I only use the Zero Strength too, no more nicotine. I think the Wintergreen flavor most resembles Hawkins, if you’ve ever had Hawkins. I was a Skoal Wintergreen guy, but dabbled with about all the smokeless stuff, and I’ve tried about all the fake stuff too. II cannot say for sure on a Cope flavor, some have said the Classic flavor Triumph (my favorite) tastes like Cope…I don’t think so. I think the Smokey Mountain Strait “tastes” close to Cope. I too enjoy the consistency of Triumph. It’s a great product. The Hooch is another pretty good texture. I don’t think the flavor lasts very long, but the texture of Hooch is almost identical to smokeless tobacco. Spitfire was my fovorite Hooch flavor, that stuff is HOT! Lol! But I enjoy the Triumph, they have a new Bourbon flavor that’s good too…get a 5 pack sampler…the mint is the best of all the mints I had!

I had my last Apple Skoal rub on 02/27/15. Been on the hunt for an alternative & spent a few hundred $$$$$$ in the process. I couldn’t find anything that is like AS, but like Chewie said, Teaza is real good. Check into Hooch & Smokey Mountain Chew, both have pretty reasonable sample packs.

I have tried the Elicit brand. I tried it for three times and now my inside of my lip is rough feeling and hurts at the base of gum line. I have chewed for years and really need to stop thought this might be good to try. Any one ever have this experience with an herbal one. The company stated that it is probably the mint stems cutting my lip. I just want to know if anyone else has experienced this?

I’ve spent a few hundred dollars on different fake chews & I never had that problem. The biggest problem I had is most of them are just nasty.

Hello Patrick… I’ve tried them all and will afree with Dan, Teaza is pretty awesome. However, due to customer service or lack there of, I quit purchasing from them. I’ve been using the BaccOff pouch since then. Closest to actual size of tobacco pouch. Also, Triumph Chew is getting ready to put pouches out. Go to there site and take a look. The company and customer service is awesome. Good Luck!

No Cam, I did have an issue with an order but they did make it right. Call the 855 # & ask for Tianna or hit them up on FB. They have a Bogo special going on right now, basically buy 1 get 1 free. But yes, things could be ran smoother with them no doubt. But man, the product is so good I tolerate it. Besides SMC, which I use if I’m pounding beers, nothing touches Teaza.

I appreciate this site and the reviews it has. It’s great thanks

Derek, I’ve tried both Hooch and SM. Both are very good alternatives to Peach. IMO Hooch is the better of the two. If your looking for a good straight… try Triumph Chew. I’ve tried all 4 flavors and the texture is the closest to the real stuff I’ve tried (long cut). Hooch is the closest (fine/medium cut)

Hey Brandon, I was going to say the same as Chewie did. Smokey Mountain makes a straight….that Spit Fire from Hooch is a really “hot” one as well. Probably was my favorite among the Hooch brand. But I don’t think I’ve ever had the Straight by Smokey Mountain, but have seen it.

Almost forgot to mention Triumph’s classic. I was a Skoal Winter green guy….so most of what I tried with the alternatives is Wintergreen. But when I tried this classic flavor from Triumph, it automatically became my favorite. I’ve had classic flavors from Skoal before….but this Triumph is a little different….not sure “what” the taste is, spicy and “cola” like? I don’t know….but its worth a whirl too. Free shipping too =’s WINNING!!

Just to follow up with what Chewie said, honestly, nothing will be “exactly” like your Grizzly, his Kodiak or my Skoal. The key, at least for me, was to pretend in your mind, Skoal is no longer available, it isn’t made anymore. Then, find something you enjoy and will “do”. For me, I do like the Smokey Mountain Wintergreen….pretty good, a little sweet compared to tobacco. But what I absolutely love as a dip alternative is the Triumph. Its not really anything like my Skoal, but it tastes good to me and works when I’m in a “pinch” for one. Hope that helps, and welcome to a great website to help with your quit!

I am also trying kick Grizzly Wintergreen. I just recently tried Golden Eagle Herbal Chew Wintergreen. I won’t do that again it was too grainy and too dry. I’m trying to find one that’s actually moist to help replace Grizzly with how moist it was.

Hey Scott, please let me know if that classic Smokey Mountain has a similar taste to the Cope. I know nothing is going to be the same as the Cope, none of the fake dips I use are “exactly” the same as my Skoal Wintergreen. I have just found some alternatives that “will do”. That’s the key I guess. But let me know what you think and good luck on defeating the tobacco. I am now on day 51 without the tobacco and nicotine.

Just to follow up I quit Copenhagen for almost 6 weeks now. I tried the substitute for about 3 dips and quit.
I used the nicotine patch and when the urge got to me I chewed the 4mg nicotine gum. And sometimes I would chew two pieces at a time. Then I would mix regularl chewing gum with it. After the patches were gone I only use the nicotine gum. Yes it’s a new habit but much safer. And each day its easier and now I don’t think or crave the Copenhagen. I gained a few pounds and have toothpicks handy and nicotine gum within reach while driving my semi.

Just to follow up on my 4 pack of Triumph, as expected, I was not disappointed! I have not had the cinammon yet, but the Wintergreen, Classic and Mint were all SOLID! I was told the Classic was suppose to Mimic Cope, but I found it just to be something of its own. Very tasty I must add. Kind of spicy. The Mint was probably the best Mint I’ve had of the fakes.

After dipping for 25+ years (Skoal Wintergreen Long Cut), thru suggestions on this site, I tried the wintergreen triumph, loved it, so decided to order a 4 pack sampler (wintergreen, cinnamon, classic & mint). As with others on here! I will only experiment with zero nicotine strength products…no more poison for this guy
